A co-working session to create a list of open source alternatives to proprietary software + updates about HPC & AI Carpentry by Toby Hodges
—
On Thursday the 19th of November RST-NL organizes a meet-up for research software trainers and support staff across the Netherlands.
Co-Working Session: Open Source Alternatives to Proprietary Software
Isn’t it neat to have a hand-out for researchers to promote open source alternatives for their data cleaning, analysis and visualizations?
We host a co-working sprint to create a comparative list of open source alternatives to proprietary software. This session is an outcome from our previous meet-up on the 18th of June, and is organized by Milou Huijsmans (HU) and Eva Lekkerkerker (RST-NL).
Carpentries Community Talk: Curriculum Innovation in AI & HPC
Are you curious about curriculum innovation responding to AI and HPC developments? Already part of The Carpentries as an instructor, helper or coordinator, or interested to meet the community?
Join us for a community talk by Toby Hodges (Director of Curriculum at The Carpentries), who will share news about two new exciting Carpentry branches in-the-making: HPC Carpentry & AI Carpentry.
Afterwards we will have a borrel to network and close the day in a relaxing way with each other.
Programme:
- 13.00 – 15.00 — Co-working sprint: open source alternatives to proprietary software (by Milou Huijsman & Eva Lekkerkerker)
- 15.00 – 16.00 — Carpentries Community Talk: HPC & AI Carpentry (by Toby Hodges)
