The Netherlands eScience Center is proud to partner with the Dutch National Center of Expertise and Repository for Research Data (DANS) and The Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) to host The Workshop on Sustainable Software Sustainability 2021 (WoSSS21).
WoSSS21 will be held online from Wednesday 6 October to Friday 8 October 2021. It is the fourth workshop in a series that started in Berlin in 2015. In 2017 and 2019, the event took place in The Hague. Reports on the previous workshops are available here: https://wosss.org
The overall aim of the workshop series is to bring together participants from a broad range of communities that are interested in how to deal with software sustainability, primarily from the perspective of scholarly and scientific research.
This event is not only oriented to research developers, researchers who code, and specialists in digital preservation and research infrastructure, but also to policy makers in open science, research funders, and others who want to learn about the issues at stake and who have something to contribute. This year, we especially welcome participants involved in digital heritage.
Sessions
There will be four sessions. Every session will address a specific topic and will be introduced by a series of presentation. The four topics are:
Session 1 (6 October at 14:30 BST): Sustaining software in cultural heritage
Session 2 (7 October at 08.00 BST): Open science & applying the FAIR principles to software
Session 3 (7 October at 14:30 BST): Human factors and new development in preserving and sustaining research software
Session 4 (8 October at 08:00 BST): Sustaining the community and promoting (human) infrastructure for software sustainability
