Fellowship project title: Lowering open software adoption barriers in physiology research

The goal: We aim to provide new and interactive tutorials and tools, so that physiologists are able to implement metabolic analysis tools in R much faster. Specifically, we will make use of webr, but also R targets that guarantee reproducible workflows if used in a proper way.

The why: Studying the physiology of health requires a dedicated multi-disciplinary approach which is most of the time very time-consuming. Adopting open and free software tools for performing data analysis in the field of physiology can add to the burden of performing research projects. Since previously data analysis often relied on closed commercial software, we will develop and educate physiologists in using open and more reproducible data analysis tools.
