Meet Peter Kalverla, our new Programme Officer
We are excited to announce that Peter Kalverla has stepped into the role of Programme Officer at the Netherlands eScience Center beginning 1 February. Peter is a familiar face to many, having been a core part of our community since 2019 as former Senior Research Software Engineer (RSE) in the Environment and Sustainability domain.
In his new role, Peter will be a key contact point for our partners. He will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our call programme – from the initial planning and publishing of calls to the evaluation of research outcomes. His deep technical background in meteorology and earth system sciences, combined with over six years of experience at the Center, makes him uniquely positioned to advise on the evolving digital research landscape.
“I really look forward to collaborating with colleagues and external partners to maximise our impact throughout all stages of the research software life cycle,” says Peter.
When he isn’t diving into call processes or earth system sciences, you can find Peter on the volleyball court. We encourage everyone to reach out to him with questions, new ideas for collaboration, or even a tip for a great match.
