Netherlands eScience Center leaves X
After careful deliberation of its values and the changes to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Netherlands eScience Center has decided to stop using the social media platform X beginning 14 January.
Over the past few years, the eScience Center has observed an increase in hate speech and spread of misinformation. This does not align with the eScience Center’s values and spirit of openness and collaboration in a safe environment. Due to these observations, the eScience Center began to use other platforms. In November 2022, the Center joined Mastodon and more recently, Bluesky in December 2024.
As of 14 January, the eScience Center will no longer be active on X but will leave this notification pinned to its profile for remaining followers and archive purposes.
We will still remain active on our existing channels— Bluesky, Mastodon, and LinkedIn.

The eScience Center is a research organization dedicated to applying research software to answer research questions in any scientific domain through project collaborations. It has the largest concentration of dedicated, high-level research software expertise in the Netherlands.
