Training researchers in good software engineering practices

One of our goals is to set higher standards for research software. This also requires educating scientists at the early stage of their career.

We have therefore joined the Software Carpentry Foundation in their efforts to train researchers in good software engineering practices. Since 1998, Software Carpentry has been teaching computing skills to researchers in science, engineering, medicine, and related disciplines.

As an affiliate organization of the Software Carpentry Foundation we aim to increase the number of Software Carpentry teachers and we will organize several workshops annually in The Netherlands.

The Netherlands eScience Center is amongst a growing number of supporting organizations of the Software Carpentry Foundation: https://software-carpentry.org/scf/supporters.html
