Wilco serves as director of the Netherlands eScience Center, connecting ICT (big data, computational science) with applications in scientific domains. Wilco also has a chair in Climate Dynamics at Wageningen University.
Rob is responsible for eScience Technology development in all projects, project leader of our eScience technology platform, and manager of the eScience engineers.
Frank supervises the development, implementation, and research of innovative eScience solutions in multidisciplinary research projects. He is a strong advocate of applying (and re-using) the latest results of state-of-the-art ICT research in large-scale compute- and data-intensive problems in various scientific research areas.
Willem´s main research topics in the past 10 years are semantics, augmented sense making, visual analytics, information integration, and text mining.
Jason is interested in topics related to large scale distributed computing. At the Netherlands eScience Center he works on climate research projects.
Jisk works as an eScience engineer on the Summer in the City project and is eScience coordinator for the humanities projects.
Elena is specialized in image processing, and works as an eScience Engineer on medical imaging and other multidisciplinary projects.
Lars’ research interests cover (bio)chemical informatics and simulations. He is responsible as engineer and project coordinator for multiple projects in the life-sciences and chemistry domains.
In 2015 Arnold joined the Netherlands eScience Center where he works on the application of semantic web technologies on biomedical data integration and knowledge discovery.
Vincent works on the project Compressing the sky into a large collection of statistical models.
Ronald studied aerospace engineering and is specialized in data analysis, remote sensing and Earth systems.

Within the Netherlands eScience Center Ben is involved in several projects in which he is responsible for accelerating scientific applications targeting GPU-clusters.
Stefan is specialized in software development for life science projects.
Romulo works on the strategic collaboration between NLeSC and CWI Database group to research, design and implement a data management layer for Big Data problems.
Niels works on the water management project as well as general eScience infrastructure. Niels is also part-time guest researcher at the Leiden Observatory, where he applies distributed computing techniques to the AMUSE computational astronomy simulation framework.
Maarten is a core team eScience Engineer, where he focuses on visualization.
Jurriaan’s main responsibility as an eScience engineer is the implementation of inverse modeling algorithms such as DREAM, SCEM-UA, and SODA on cluster computers while improving the usability of these algorithms in the cluster environment.
Janneke works as an eScience Research Engineer on the Texcavator and From Sentiment Mining to Mining Embodied Emotions projects.
Christiaan's specialties include machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision and reinforcement learning.
Carlos works as an eScience engineer on various Digital Humanities projects.
Patrick works as eScience Engineer on the Digital Humanities projects PIDIMEHS and HADRIANVS.
With his broad interest in understanding data from various domains Anand will work on semantic web framework to understand high dimentional data from scientific articles.
Sonja joined NLeSC in May 2015. She is an eScience Research Engineer on the project Massive Biological Data Clustering, Reporting and Visualization Tools.
Sacha is a Senior Secretary at the Netherlands eScience Center. She also acts as communications assistant and is responsible for the organization of eScience events.
Patrick is responsible for the Netherlands eScience Center added value, business, and other external contacts. He is also a member of several international (mainly European) advisory bodies and boards of e-infrastructures and organizations.
