Janneke van der Zwaan has a background in Artificial Intelligence (2006, University of Amsterdam, cum laude). During her Master’s project, she worked on medical text classification in cooperation with the Dutch national network and registry of histo- and cytopathology (Stichting PALGA). She also completed a Master’s specialization in Science Communication (2008, VU University).
In 2014, she obtained a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at Delft University of Technology. The goal of her research was to understand how Embodied Conversational Agents (ECAs) can provide social support in non task-oriented settings.
Currently, Janneke works as an eScience Research Engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center. Her main expertise is text mining.
