Real-time data processing
Sonja studied Informatics in Macedonia, where she also finished her MSc studies. Her interests mostly revolved around simulations of stochastic processes, and her MSc thesis was on simulation of internet traffic data (mostly in Java). During her MSc studies she worked at the university as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students. She taught various courses in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
In 2007 Sonja started her PhD studies at the Eindhoven University of Technology. The studies were on probabilistic concurrent models in Computer Science. During this period, she developed algorithms and techniques for improved verification and performance analysis of such systems. After finishing her PhD studies, Sonja was a Senior Analytics software developer (mostly in C#) at Spax Solution in Amsterdam for more than three years, where she developed software for generic-purpose predictive analytics and software for real-time distributed sensor data processing. During this period she became very interested in Machine Learning and Data mining.
Sonja joined NLeSC in May 2015.
