Pablo Rodríguez-Sánchez studied physics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He got his MSc diploma in 2012, with a thesis on Artificial Vision. As a consequence of this thesis, he worked for 3 years as an R&D engineer at Indizen Optical Technologies, a company focused on the design of ophthalmic lenses.
In 2015 he joined the CRITICS ITN in order to conduct a PhD in Applied Mathematics at Wageningen University. There he dealt with topics so varied as numerical modelling of plankton dynamics, sensor data analysis in dairy farms and the mathematics of synchronization in sleep-wake cycles. His PhD defense is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2020.
Since 2011, he has been pursuing his two main passions closely: teaching and science communication. He does this mainly via the platform naukas.com, one of the largest science communication web magazines in Spanish language. His main role there is to contribute articles about mathematics and physics, some of them featuring interactive visualization applets. Additionally, he has given several popular science talks in theaters and on radio.
Pablo joined the Netherlands eScience Center in autumn 2019.
