Research Software Engineer

Alexander Hadjiivanov

Alex is a Research Software Engineer with a multidisciplinary background focusing on bioinspired AI, neuromorphic computing and sensing, and hybrid neurosymbolic systems. He is currently working on the practical application of machine learning in domains such as cognitive neuroscience and environment & sustainability.

He is also developing theoretical models of bioinspired computation and sensing, such as simulating the mammalian vision system and continual learning with homeostatic spiking neural networks. Alex is fascinated by neuroscience and both natural and programming languages, and welcomes questions, opinions and debates on topics ranging from the nature of learning and perception to grammar and etymology.
