Dr. Walter Baccinelli


Walter obtained a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where he developed a new system for the administration of home-based physical rehabilitation for post-stroke patients, using the properties of radio frequency transmission. During the PhD, he also worked at Ab.Acus, where he developed new eHealth and telehealth solutions leveraging innovative technologies and research outputs. During this period, he was involved in several European projects, through which he also acquired experience in the design and management of research projects.  

Walter’s skills include software development in different programming languages (C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Python), databases design and maintenance as well as hardware prototyping.

Walter joined the Netherlands eScience Center as Research Software Engineer in the Life Sciences section in March 2022.
