Eva Lekkerkerker
Eva Lekkerkerker has a background in social sciences, with a specialization in sociology and interdisciplinary research methods. She obtained her Research Master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam, where she developed expertise in mixed-methods research and conducted fieldwork in Ghana on sustainability and socio-technical innovation.
Her work focuses on connecting people, knowledge, and institutions through training, coordination, and community-building. She has a track record in developing learning programmes and aligning stakeholders across academia, digital skills initiatives, and Open Science.
Early in her career, she worked in research and data analysis on marketing projects and political behavior. She also trained as a dialogue facilitator through the UN-affiliated Soliya program, shaping her approach to teaching and collaboration as relational and practice based.
At the University of Amsterdam Library, she gained experience in institutional coordination and governance within complex academic organizations. She later served as Digital Competence Center coordinator, where she led the development of a university-wide research training programme, organized curricula on topics such as machine learning and data visualization, and contributed to national initiatives including the Carpentries community.
Eva currently works as Network Coordinator for Research Software Training NL, where she connects research software training communities at a national level, supports instructors, and facilitates knowledge exchange across institutions.
