New Research Software Sustainability Programme: Open Science NL and the eScience Center join forces
Research software has become indispensable to modern research. It underpins analyses, simulations, and data processing across disciplines. Sustaining research software is therefore crucial to ensure that research results can be reproduced, validated, and built upon over time. Open Science NL has awarded 5.4 million euros to the Netherlands eScience Center to execute the Research Software Sustainability Programme ensuring technical maintenance but also long-term funding models, clear governance structures, and recognition of the people and communities who develop and maintain research software.
With this grant, we will be able to continue our Research Software Sustainability Calls and support the continuation of our successful Fellowship Programme. We’ll be able to support our mission to empower researchers through innovative software.
